Karen Russell is currently the Mary Ellen von der Heyden Fiction Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin. She is the author of St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves (2006), a short story collection that won the Bard Fiction Prize in 2011. Her novel Swamplandia! (2011) was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
