American Studies Writing Resources
12/01/2024Dear students of American Studies,
We are very happy to introduce you to “American Studies Writing Resources,” a WueCampus “course room” set up to help you with writing academic texts in American Studies. It is basically divided into two categories: learning materials on how to improve your academic texts, in particular response and term papers, and a term paper archive that offers appropriate examples of excellent papers that have been handed in to the American Studies department of this university. As the authors of these papers have generously allowed us to anonymously publish their papers for learning purposes, we ask you to respect their works by following the rules stated in the disclaimer at the end of the course room.
In the General Resources and General Writing Resources folder, you can find information on how to access texts needed for academic reading and writing from home and some general materials on how to improve your writing. The teaching videos include information on how to find a thesis for your paper, how to work with literature and film as well as appropriate sources for your term paper. For more information on the set-up of the course and the teaching videos, you can watch the “Short Introduction to the Course” video. We have provided additional materials from the Writing Center as well as other sources that we hope will be of help to you and your writing process.
If you are interested in the course, you can self-enroll here: https://wuecampus.uni-wuerzburg.de/moodle/course/view.php?id=54521
We are also offering office hours with an American Studies writing tutor to discuss your writing and answer your questions. You can find the link with the current office hours in the course room or message hiwi.amerikanistik@uni-wuerzburg.de to get in contact with a writing tutor.
If you have any further questions or feedback, you can post it to the General Discussion Forum or contact hiwi.amerikanistik@uni-wuerzburg.de!
Best regards,
Your American Studies team
