Dr. Dorothea König

Die Würzburger Slavistik trauert um ihre langjährige Akademische Rätin und Akademische Direktorin Dr. Dorothea König, die am 4. November verstorben ist.

Dorothea König hat sich über drei Jahrzehnte lang mit all ihrer Kraft für das Fach und das Institut eingesetzt. Ihre besondere Liebe galt den süd­sla­vi­schen Kulturen, für die sie viele Studenten und Studen­tinnen be­gei­stern konnte. Auch ihr langjähriges Wirken in den Selbst­ver­wal­tungsgremien der Universität trägt Früchte bis heute.

Wir haben eine liebe und großartige Kollegin, die Studenten und Studentinnen eine vorbildliche akademische Lehrerin verloren. Unser Mitgefühl gilt den Angehörigen.

Würzburg’s Slavists mourn our colleague of many years Academic Counsellor and Director Dr. Dorothea König,  who passed away on 4 November.

For over three decades, Dorothea König devoted herself to promoting the field and the Slavic Institute of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität. She had a special love for South Slavic cultures, and taught many students to share her enthusiasm for this area. Her tireless efforts in the University’s academic self-governance committees bear fruit to this day.

We have lost a treasured, irreplaceable colleague and gifted teacher. Our profound condolences go out to her family.
